Programming: Address lookup for an application?

I have offered my services to write a simple record maintenance application for a charity (Written in vb.net).





Within these records are addresses, rather than force them to type this information in I would like to implement an address look-up.





I've seen web services though these are for a cost, not sure if any of these deal with charities for FREE or not.





I also thought of databases, however I assume again cost would be a factor and would require more effort to keep updated.





Any ideas for a FREE solution to an address look-up system for a vb.net application?|||You have no chance of a free solution as most companies use PAF provided by royal mail and the cost+royalties isn't cheap.


Is this an input form you are creating or are the address records existing and need to be cleansed?





To do it you would have to have access to every address in the UK i.e. PAF to match the postcodes and allow the address to be selected. Unless you know someone who has this information it wouldn't be possible. Data processors like me can process the data after against PAF to improve accuracy but it wouldn't take any work away from the inputter.





What about making an online form somewhere so the client or customer can input their own detials?





I wonder if google have an app for this type of stuff that fits in with their mappings software?
