THE Reason Im asking is that Im getting abusive emails from that IP Address. On others that are not "private" I know they are using SBC/ATT or Clearwire or whatever. How can I know if it says private?
??? How can I find out?|||Your abusive messages are coming from your own network, maybe even your own machine. Some addresses are reserved for local-only use, including 10.xxx.xxx.xxx and 192.168.xxx.xxx, so that's why you can't get the normal report from WhoIs. It's you!
And since it's you or your network being the source, chances are very high that you have active malware that urgently needs removing. Use the usual tools. If it continues, do a re-installation. If it were my machine (and it was once long ago -- Windows is eventually that way for everyone) I'd install Linux -- such as PCLinuxOS or LinuxMint, or another distribution found at http://distrowatch.com
Good luck!|||Anything from 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255 is reserved for private networks; those numbers do not exist on the public Internet. Period. Assume you're getting spoofed. In the meantime, if you have mail filters worthy of the name, block anything mentioning that range.
