How can I find someone when all I have is an address from 4 years ago, a 1st name and the school they went to?
I was seeing this girl for a few years and we were good friends until she told me she wanted to be more... Me being the typical commitment phoebe got scared and cut all ties to her, yeh stupid I know specially seeing we were close friends. Anyway for the last 4-5 years I have constantly been wondering how she's doing and how she is, but I have exhausted every resource I can think of to track her down?
All I have is her address, her first name and the high school she went to.
Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and actually found the person they were looking for or does anyone have any ideas on any other methods I can use?
Keeping in mind that i'm in Aus, and as far as I am aware there is no legit reverse address lookup.
Unfortunately I cannot just knock on the door, believe me if I could I would have by now.

Is it possible to uncover the IP address of a user on deviantART?
I'm asking not because I want to find out where said user lives, but because I want to compare the IP addresses of two accounts, because I think that they might belong to the same person.

That is because I have open ports (pathways) through my router, the computer firewall and other security I've got to allow HTTP, FTP and some other types of access. If you look at http://brisray.com/comp/cwserver2.htm about 2/3rds of the way down that page you'll see what people are doing to break out of the server software into the system files, you'll see entries where people are trying to run a command prompt, look for vulnerabilites in the CGI directories, find their way through PHP weaknesses and even overload the system buffer - a very old method of atack.

How to use another IP address?
I need to change my ip address to another London one, because Im banned from a certain site. I can use proxies but they go so slow, and don't seem to work as this site knows it's from another place. Finding location of dropshipper. Where/whom an item or product was dropshipped. Address, Co name, etc?
If I am a customer and order something from someone that uses a dropshipper, how can I find out where/who actually shipped the item. I know people send their invoice/packing slip to the dropshipper to hide who the product is truly coming from.

There are so many websites out there... they all say the search is free, but then to get the information you have to pay... is there any website out there where I can find out who owns a certain car according to the license plate, or who lives at a certain address, and get the information for free?|||Stop stalking people! How do I use the 'computer name' of a computer on my home network of XP Pro computers to lookup the ip address of that computer remotely?
I have a home network with 3 XP Pro computers. One has no monitor and is only accessible via IP address using RealVNC. The IP address recently changed, and for some reason it doesn't show up on my router's DHCP table. I can browse to the computer via 'my network' and I can print to the attached printer. I want to look up it's new IP address so that I can connect with RealVNC

You would do this from the command prompt:

for a host name of "laptop" you would simply type:

Once you type in the ping command and the IP address is resolved, the output from the command should look something like this example:
Pinging laptop [192.168.0.102] with 32 bytes of data:
The IP address for the host would be in the brackets. This will take the guess work out of it as opposed to pinging a range of IP addresses.
Also, provided Dynamic DNS is working properly, you may be able to enter the host name into the Connect prompt in RealVNC. I use WinVNC so I'm not familiar with the RealVNC interface, but try it out and see if that works. It does work using the host name in WinVNC. In large enterprise level environments, DHCP is used with hundreds of IP's in the address pool, and the developers for the VNC programs realize this. I would be surprised if RealVNC doesn't support using host names in addition to IP addresses.

I need someone who knows about email, their headers %26amp; the origination. Here's the short of it: My boyfriend has been unfaithful in the past but I think he may be at it again. We have a shared email account. I received an email from someone. The email was sent to 2 addresses: our's and another unfamiliar email address. The unfamiliar email address had his birthdate on the end. Being suspiscious, I tried to log-in. I couldn't. I tried the Yahoo password wizard. It accepted one of his personal Yahoo email addresses as the alternate email address as the answer to one of it's "secret questions." Therefore, whomever created this email address put his band email address in as the alternate email address when it was registered. I forwarded a copy of the email to myself %26amp; deleted the original. I'd like to send a copy to someone so they can tell e anything that they can about it, where it came from, etc. I already tried the "IP address lookups" but they are confusing as hell. Why is someone having your ip address so bad?
I'm just wondering. Why is it so bad for other people to have your ip address? I went on a site recently and apparently it did a whois lookup on my ip address and it "identified" my location to popup an ad based on my location or something like that, but is that it or what?|||Depending on the person it may or may not be bad, but regardless if the person cares or not it can lead to a difficult situation.
Ex. certain sites that offer services that are money based like banks, an mlm business, gambling business, Ptc, etc. use this to identify cheating/theft when online transactions are made, or to identify if the person is who they say they are and they truly live near/where they state to avoid 1) confusions, loss of profit, business, etc. 2) Precautionary versus some sort of cheating or abuse of their own system.
Most free to join business's or services such as a blog, traffic exchange, or even anything as simple as youtube/Fb/twitter strive on the geographic ads or just ads in general. They use your ip or even pin point it even further by using your provided, and/or verified location to give geographical advertisements. Generally speaking they are worth more than a broad out advertisement; This money used by the banners or text ads keep said service free, can you imagine paying say 2-10$ to watch just one maybe even two youtube videos? Of course you can't because we are so used to those advertisements paying it for us.
Thats the business side of the arguement the other major reason is anyone with your ip can get in trouble for you instead of under their own name.
Put it this way Child porno and or human traffiking has become a huge thing world wide and now especially in the Us and Central America (China too but that is besides the point) so I will use that as an example and also to raise awareness. The latter moreover but not the point, if a person who is affiliated in any way with those types of people used your ip* or internet connection or anything of the sort that can leave a trail or any trace back to you and keep the heat off themselves that will be just one more problem for you and one less for them. Believe it or not ip stealing and the sort is alot more common than you think.
To put it in a lower light of things if lets say you use mega video to watch those 75 minutes free and someone else has your ip that means that you will watch whatever exposure said person didn't use and still you would have to wait the half hour just to potentially share those 75 minutes with said person again. Same for File sharing hosts like mega upload, Django, etc. a person with your ip can just use his or her free downloads and avoid waiting the time limit and then use yours too, now lets say you didn't have a paid account now you have to wait for a service you didn't use.
*In various countries especially ones with lower internet service provider chains they use proxies/protocals to give several people the same ip as the one you have. Generally speaking this is no problem because of the fact that every computer has its own identification but it can cause difficulties with lower end services like online businesses that are a little under 5 years online.|||Today is everything about privacy. You do not want that someone know your phone number. In similar way you do not want that someone have IP address from your computer. It is virtually same as phone number.
