If I do a DNS lookup on an IP address, can i get several host names.?

Maybe is reverse IP lookup what you are looking for:

http://www.ipaddresslocation.org/reverse鈥?/a>

http://www.find-ip-address.org/reverse_l鈥?/a>

You will get all domains from IP address.|||i do not know what you are trying to do

here is an example of nslookup

linux:~ opensuse$ nslookup

%26gt; yahoo.com

Server: 192.168.1.254

Address: 192.168.1.254#53

Non-authoritative answer:

Name: yahoo.com

Address: 72.30.2.43

Name: yahoo.com

Address: 98.137.149.56

Name: yahoo.com

Address: 209.191.122.70

Name: yahoo.com

Address: 67.195.160.76

Name: yahoo.com

Address: 69.147.125.65

%26gt;

hope that helps some how|||Yes. You can recieve multiple results for hostnames linked to an ip address. The same works in reverse, if you dns a round robin hostname, you can get multiple results for ip addresses it points to.|||I believe you can, but most resolver libraries will only use the first one.
